This community is here for gaming, technology, discussion, opinions, and the occasional disagreement. You do not have to agree with me or anyone else here. I just ask that you treat people like actual people while you are here.
Most of these rules come down to common sense. Talk, debate, joke around, criticize things, and have your own opinions. Just do not turn a disagreement into an excuse to attack someone.
Respect Other People
Disagree with the argument, not the person making it. Personal attacks, targeted harassment, threats, bullying, slurs, or repeated attempts to provoke someone are not welcome here.
Heated discussions happen. That is fine. There is a difference between arguing your point and making the conversation miserable for everyone else.
Keep Discussions Relevant
Try to keep comments and discussions connected to the topic being discussed. Conversations can naturally wander a little, but completely unrelated posts, repeated arguments, bait, and attempts to derail discussions may be removed.
No Spam or Unwanted Promotion
Do not use the community as free advertising space. Repeated links, referral links, advertisements, copy-and-paste promotions, suspicious downloads, and unrelated self-promotion may be removed.
Sharing your own content is fine when it actually adds something to the conversation. Dropping a link and disappearing is a different story.
Protect People’s Privacy
Do not post someone else’s private information. This includes addresses, phone numbers, private account information, private conversations, identifying documents, or anything shared with the intent of exposing or harassing another person.
Screenshots of private conversations should stay private without permission from the people involved.
Do Not Post Harmful or Illegal Content
Do not use this site to distribute malware, stolen accounts, pirated downloads, scams, phishing links, instructions meant to harm other people, or material that violates applicable law.
Talking about security, piracy, cheating, exploits, modding, or controversial subjects is different from using the community to actively distribute harmful material.
Do Not Impersonate People
Do not pretend to be another community member, creator, company, moderator, staff member, or public figure. Parody and jokes should be obvious enough that people are not being intentionally misled.
Post With Some Effort
You do not need perfect grammar or a five-paragraph essay. Just give people enough context to understand what you are talking about.
Repeated low-effort posts, duplicate comments, meaningless replies, excessive flooding, and other behavior that clutters discussions may be cleaned up.
Criticism Is Welcome
You are allowed to criticize my content, my website, games I like, companies I talk about, or opinions I share. Agreement is not a requirement for being here.
Good criticism explains the problem. If something on the site is broken, inaccurate, confusing, or just plain annoying, tell me. I would rather know about it.
Moderation
Context matters. An obvious joke between friends is different from targeted harassment. A mistake is different from someone repeatedly ignoring the rules.
Moderation decisions may take into account the content itself, the surrounding discussion, the seriousness of the behavior, prior warnings or violations, and whether the person continued after being asked to stop.
Moderation is not meant to punish people for disagreeing. It is there to keep discussions usable and stop behavior that repeatedly causes problems.
Appeals
If your post was removed, your account was restricted, or you were banned, you may appeal the decision. Appeals are meant for cases where you believe something was misunderstood, important context was missed, or the action taken was too severe for what happened.
When submitting an appeal, include your username, the action you are appealing, the approximate date it happened, and a short explanation of why you believe the decision should be reviewed. If you have screenshots or other useful context, include them.
- Submit one appeal per moderation action.
- Be clear and respectful. Insults, threats, spam, or harassment will not help your appeal.
- Do not create alternate accounts to get around a restriction or ban while an appeal is being reviewed.
- Do not repeatedly submit the same appeal after a decision has been made.
- False information or edited evidence may result in the appeal being denied.
Appeals are reviewed based on the original situation, available evidence, account history, and any new information provided. A moderation decision may be kept in place, reduced, changed, or reversed after review.
Filing an appeal does not guarantee that a moderation action will be removed. The goal is to give people a fair chance to explain what happened and correct mistakes when they occur.
If an appeal has already been reviewed and a final decision has been issued, repeated requests about the same case may be ignored if no new information is provided.
Reporting Problems
If you see spam, harassment, broken content, suspicious links, or another problem, please use the available report or support system instead of turning the comment section into its own courtroom.
The short version: have your opinions, have fun, disagree with people, and do not make the place miserable for everyone else.
